Permission was also granted ±o erect gate on deviation road. MISCELLAXEOOS. Tbe Eagiueet's monthly report was read and adopted. It was agreed to ask the railway authorities to make the railway overbtidge at Warepa safe for traction engines. Tbe Finance Committee's report, recommending the payment of £264. 3s 6d, was adopted. On the motion of Cr Hay, tbe engineer was authorised to iostruot one of the surfacemen ta remove g-tte on Cannibal Bay road. Cr Walt.ack moved — "That the engineer call tenders for formation and culverts on Moyes's road up to deviation required on M'Gaw's ground ; tenders to' ba in by next meeting."— Seconded by Cr Bbadfield and carried. W. Nelson's tender for contract No. 669, at £7 18s, was accepted. 1 \Cr Robebtsox Eaid he had Feen Mr Logan with regard to his .offer of £100 towards rev erection of bridge at Kelso, and he was agreeable to band the money over to the council to place it in a" trußb aocount for the special purpose of the erection of this bridge. He moved— " That the offer be accepted on those condition's."—Motion carried. Cr Bbadfield said Jie wanted a return from the clerk showing the different roads in his riding, and the money accruing from the Crown Lands department towards these roads.
