OF THE AUSTRALIAN MUTUAL PROVIDENT SOCIETY. LADIES and GENTLEMEN,— I beg to announce that it is my intention to offer myself as a Candidate for a Seat on the Board at the next Annual Meeting. I think ifc proper to inform yon that .1 will, if elected, exert myself to the utmost to extend the operations of the Society to Great Britain. My reaiODS for this exi-ension were given at length at a special meeting of the Society, held in Sydney on the 24th July 1891, at which routing I carried a resolution in its favour, -but did not obtain the two- thirds majority neceseary. to an alteration in the By-laws. My spe'eh will ba found fully reported in the iro i-ing papers of July 25, 1891. Since these reanous were urged a severe crisis has shvken to their f<uodation mxny of the Financial Inßtitutions or Australasia, and has emphasised the necessity for extending cur" operations, in order that we may be rendered largely independent of the disturbing influences of local crises and disasters. . Faithfully yours, R. M. PITT, Messrs Pitt, Son, and Badgery (Limited), 9ap Stock and Station Agents, Sydney.
