The Timaru Verald learns that Mr Donald M'Millan, of Burke'a Pass, has created a precedent for wnolgrowers, by \ olding over his last year's clip till this season, looking forward to better p ices than wee obtainable in 1891-95. And the remit has justified his foresight, or whatever it was that caused h^ni to hold over, for afc Tuesday's sale he cot 2d per lb more for last year's wool than was to be srot a year ago. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company have icceived tbe following cablegram from their London office, dated Dec mber 11 : — " Wool : The sales closed firmly this day. Since the close of the last s>les prices have changed as follows :— Greasy merino super, par to Jd per lb higher ; washed and scoured merino super, jd per lb higher ; greasy merino medium and inferior, fine greany crossbred, medium greasy crossbred, fine wa»hei and scoured crossbred, medium and come washed and sconrol enmbred. Jd per )b lower; grea*y merino lambs, super, medium, and iufeiior, id per lb biabcr ; Btipe and medium scoured, Ad par lb lower; other descriptions* unchanged." • *
