November 22. Tlie Bank of BDgland returns, published to-day, show the total reserve in notes and bullion to be L 32.870.000, the proportion of reserve to liability being 5760. New Zealand long berried wheat la quoted at nominal figures. S JUth Australian, 28d 3d (qoiet); Victorian, 28s 3d (flat). New Z -aland mutton : First quality, 4dj second do, 3£d ; lamb, s£i. Hemp is unchanged. Bnt'er i« in good demand, and business fg steady a' KXh to 106', finest qu l'ty br ng--ing 103', .u.<7 Dsniah 1003 to 10i*. November 24. Tallow : Medium mutton, 32s 3d ; beef, 21s 6d. The English wheat market has ,a downward tendency, Continental is inactive, and American depressed. Hides : New South Wales heavy ox, 4Jd ; cows, 3Jd. Sydney, November 23. The produce mark t continues firm, tad prices are well maintained. Maize is distinctly btronfijs at 3s 3d, and butter and bacon are hardening.
Melbourne, November 23. Breadstuff* are slightly easier. Wheat, 3s 10id to 33 lid ; flour, £9 15s to £10. Adelaide, November 23. Wheat is firmer. Buiers quote 4s Id tor old, Cut sellers hold out for a penny more.
