The monthly meetirjg of the D.J.C.« Committee was held lasfc Thursday. Present : Hon. H'Lean (ia the char), Messrs Miller, Meenan, H»slett, Fleming, Stephensan, Fergus, and Short. The Works Committee reported having inspetted and ttied all the starting machines ejected by Mr John Rose, and found all of them to work in a most satisfactory manner. | The machines will all be used at the forthcoming meeting. Ryder (Jack £2, Starlight £1 53, Toby £1 10s, Dragon 10s), T. Mortimer (Napier £1 10 a, Cinnabar £1 10s), M. Hanley (Gaiety £1 153), due Tapanui Club. A donation of £2 2» was received (per Mr Miller) from Mr C. S. Ho*ell, saddler, Christchurch, to the distressed jockeys' fund, and ordered to'be acknowledged with thanks. It was resolved that tickets on the outside totalisator should be issued on Cup D»y at 20s, and on the other two days of the meeting at 10s, with the proviso that investors from inside must invest at least £1. It was resolved to a«k Mr Taggart to act as clerk of the course at the ensuing meeting, Mr Gourley having been appointed starter. The question of excluding bookmakers from the course during the meeting was remitted to a. special committee with power to act. .
