The Piemier has received the following cablegram :—": — " Re your telegram 24th August as to carriage of produce. This Goverament have now made an agreement with Messrs Dalgety and Co. (Limited) and Meser3 John Sanderson and Co , providing for the carriage of butter aud chees3 at % J per lb net ; meat, Jd per lb to per lb ; meisurement cargo, 70s per ion measurement ; and fruit, 3s 9d per case. The contract will nob come into operation until May next.— Premier, Melbourne."
