A CONSPIRACY CASE.

A sensational conspiracy case has been occupying the court for the last week. Judge Windeyer granted Thomas Richard Butler a decree nisi for a divorce from his wife, on the ground of adultery with George Williams, whose real name has since been * ascertained to be Ohavles Davis. Subsequent revelations led the Crown to prefer against Butler, Davis, and a woman named Peabe a charge of conspiracy to falsely accuse Mrs Butter. Evidence was submitted to prove that Davis fmd Feake had been paid by Butler to lead ilia wife astray in order that the latter might obtain a divorce. All three accused found guilty, the jury adding a. rider that Mrs Butler had not cornpitted the offence for whioh the divorce jras granted. Bntler and Davis were sentenced to seven years', Feake to fo«r years' Imprisonment.
