NEW ZEALAND POULTRY ASSOCIATION.

The annual meeting of the New Zeals nd Poultry Association was held to-day. Mr R. E. Bannister (Wellington) was elected presided, aud Mr Kestovtn (Chrietchurob) secretary aud treasurer. It was resolved by 1 trfn votes fco seven that the next Championship show should ba held at Dunedin. An amendment that it should be held at Auckland was lost. Important attarations were made in regard to next year's championships. Tho number of championships was reduced from 40 to 20 of the value of £8 eaoh, which must ba won thrice before tbey become the property of the exhibitor. The cb*rnpion-hi»B were allotted as follows : — Twe've to the poultry classes, six to pigeons, and two to canaries, as follows : — Game, Dorkings, Hamburgs, Lsghorns, Wj andofctea; Langshans ' and Orpintons (combined), Cochins, Brahmas Plymouth Rocks ; Spanish, Anda'usians, And Minorcas < combined) ; bantam*, and best drake. Pigeons : Dragoons and carriers (ocks or hens), Antwerp, short-faced tumblers, long-faced tumblers, factiils and tatbits, Oriental frills and owls (combined). Canaries : Bast Norwich in the show and best any other variety of canary in the show. Awards will be made for cockerels only in the poultry classes, and pigeons and canaries must have been hatched sines l»t of July 1895. Furthermore, pig«ons entered for the champienship mu*t wear a ring obtained from the New Zra'and Pigeon Associatiou ss evidence of their bona fides. This decision means that no bird can in future obtain a championship for two years in succession. This it is thought will great!y encourage the breeding of new stock.
