THE WOOL SALES.
London, May 17. At the wool sales prices were firm and bidding spirited. The Continent is buying heavily. The series close on the 28th inst. Bradford tops are quiet, with a firmer tendency. May 18. At the wool sales a good selection was offered, and there was keen competition, and prices remained firm. The quantity sold is 195,000 bales. May 20. The Times states that the prospects of the wool sales are fairly promising despite the recent reaction. At the wool sales there is keen competition, and prices remain firm.
