Drum-beating Extraordinary.

Probably the moßt remarkable drummer who ever lived was Jean Honri, the famous tambourmajor of the Emperor Napoleon, who some 60 years since gave an exhibition of his wonderfol talents at the Lyceum Theatre, London, One of his feats was to play on 15 differentlytoned drums at the same time in so soft and

harmonious a manner that, instead of fchff deafening uproar that might hnvo been ei< pected, tho c-ffect was that of a novel and com* plete instrument. Another trick of his was to throw 28 dram* slicks into the air in all directions and then to catch them in a peculiar manner under his arms and retween his legs. Of his playing we are told that he pawed from one drum to the other with Fuch wonderful quickness that the eyes of the spcotators could hardly follow the movements of h:o hands and body.
