A WOMAN ARRESTED. Invercabgiix, May 9. At Winton to-day Minnie Dean, wife of Charles Dtau, was arrested on a charge of havitg, on or about the 3rd inst., murdeted an iufaut named Eva Hurnsby.' She was brought before the justices and remanded to the 16th inst. to appear at Milton, Otago. The arrest was made by Detectives M'GnUh (of Dunedin) and Herbttt. Accused has for several years made a business of keeping infants, and was .once before the court on a charge of neglecting several children under her care, but was tben acquitted. The polica are reticent as to "tne details of the pr< sent charge, but it ii understood that the infant was about a mouth old.
