DUNEDIN HORSE SALEYARDS. Weekly Report.
Messrs Wright, Stepiienson, and Co. report as follows :—
The inquiry for light harness horses and hacks at our Bale on Saturday was very limited, but the greater number offered were of an inferior to medium description, of which there is always an over supply. The few strong useful horses which were offered were fairly well competed for, and fetched prices about equal to those ruling at later Bales. Draughts were very poorly represented, and for young sorts no difficulty was experienced in finding buyers at good values. Next Saturday we shall offer for unreserved sale the whole of Messrs Smith and M'Kewen's racing stock, full particulars of which apyear in the advertising columns of the Tunes and Witness. We quote: First-claas draughts (extra heavy), £25 to £30 ; good ordinary draughts (young), £18 to £22 ; medium draughts, £12 to £16 ; aged draughts, £6 to £10 ; good hacks and harness horses, £12 to £16 ; medium do, £7 to £9 ; light and inferior do, £2 10s to £6.
