THE WOOL SALES.
London, December 14. At the Bradford wool sales prices are steadier, hub there ia very littla doing.
Sydney, December 15.
In November last year wool sold locally averaged LlO 5s per bale, while thia year's average was only L 8 12s. « Christchubch, December 16.
The wool sales continued on Saturday, and, though things appeared a little brighter, no change for the better took place in prices, and only about half the catalogue was cleared. Merinos were a perfect drug.
Chmstchuuch, December 14.
The second wool sale was held today. There was a good attendance of Home and colonial buyers and woolgrowers. The sales opened very dull, and continued so till the evening, when they briuhrened up a little. Fine crosubreds and merinos were down id to fd from last sale ; merino particularly were hard to quit. Coarse crossbreds were not in good demand to any extent, but there was a g«od clearance for scouring. Prices realised :— Greasy crossbreds, Bd to 7id ; half b cd, 6d to 8d ; merino. 3Jd to s|d ; pieces, up to si'i ; bellies, 3d to 4Jd ; lock 3 and piece*, Id to 3Jd; locks, Id to 2|d, Five auctioneers cold, and six sell to-morrow.
