August 6.— The annual concert and ball in aid ii 4?. unback School funds camo off on the 27th ult. The weather was fine, and consequently the attendance was satisfactory. Mr James Macfarlane, chairman of tho committee .presided. Misses O'Neill and Miller played a pianoforte solo each. Miss O'Neill and Miss Campbell acted as accompanists The piano was kiifclly lent by Mrs Wills. The school children assembled, and after planting over 40 trees, adjourned to tho schoolroom, where very liberal refreshments were provided by the ladies of the district. The Railway department have also planted a number of trees, around the buildings. A Change.— Very few carriers, come to Dunback now for their loadings, as tlie goods now go to Hydo.
