Waitaiiuna Farmers' Club.— This club held its meeting on Monday evening. The Secretary laid on the table a copy of the Noxious Weeds Bill, forwarded by the Agricultural Department at Wellington. The members present thought that a bill of this description was very l.ecessary. They were of opinion, however, that the effect of clause 7, referring to the trimming of fences and burning the cutting*, cumins into operation would he the promoting the growth of any rootlets or seedlings which may have beun in the ground pruv'ous to the 4nmining of the fences. The cuttings, if left to rot on the ground, were the most effecthe npthiil of checking any further growth. The opinion was expressed tiiat clause 7 might beneficially amended in that direction. The secretary was accordingly instructed to write to tho Minister for Agriculture, drawing his attention to the club's opinion on the matter. — Mr James AHon, M,H R., wrote stating that he had .spoken to the Hon. the Minister for Lands on the subject of having bills and papers relating to agriculture forwarded to the club, and that ho had promised that the club's request would be attended to.
