The following are the battery returns :— Big River, 2500z amalgam from 110 tons (clean up) ; Progress, 1750z amalgam from 185 tons ; Wealth of Nations, 170oz amalgam from 110 tons ; Cocksparrow dredge, 320z of gold for 88 hours' dredging. Stock Exchange quotations :— Big River, 12s to 13s ; Cumberland, 4s to 4s 6d ; Exchange (sellers), fld ; Globe. 5s to 7s ; Hercules, Is 3d to Is 6d ; Keep-it-Dark (sellers), 9d ; Lyell Creek, 9d to Is ; No. 2 Dark, 9d to Is ; Progress (buyers), 14s 9d ; Sir C Russell, Is 2d to Is 6d ; United Alpine, 12 S to 13s ; Welcome, 6d to 9d ; Wealth of Natious, 2s to 2s 6d ; Sir F. Drake, 2s 4d. On account of the large amount of development work unusually heavy calls are duo this month, amounting to over £2500. The Alexander dredge and claint were sold for £240. It is understood that it is intended to raise her and work the claim again. The Cocksparrow dredge is on good gold.
