The weather was bitterly cold, and at one portion of the afternoon threatening clouds hung about, but no rain fell. The attendance was small, and was comprised principally of bookmakers and the owners of the competing dogs. The entries for the Cup numbered 18, or one loss thin that event in the previous year ; but the entries for the Bracelet Stakes fell short of the number received in 1893 by 14, there being 54 dogs entered on that occasion. None of the courses in the Cup proved of very great interest —as a matter of fact no excitement was created by any of the events during the day — and, with two exceptions, the favourites in each instance carried off the honours. The exceptions were the course between Ledgerkeeper and Stormy Petrel and that between Cast-off and Black Hawk. Ledgerkeeper (6 to' 4 agst) beat the favourite easily, and Cast-off had little trouble in disposing ot Black Hawk. A good deal of interest v»' manifested in the course between Cwdig&n and White fftwr— »a AuokUnd dog,
