POSITION OF MEMBERS IN THE HOUSE.

Memberß having now finally taken their seats, the accompanying plan of the House, showing the position which each member will occupy in it for the seesion, will be of interest to our readers. Our spec : al correspondent in Wellington says: — "The new Parliament is strangely altered from the old, not only on account of the multitude of new faces in it, but on account of the changes in their places of many of the old. The Hon. Mr Mitchelson has the place at the head of the Opposition benches long sacred to the dignity of Mr Rolleston, while Captain Russell takes the place of , Sir John Hall and Dr Newman moves up to the place vacated by the gallant captain, and Mr Duthie takes the old-timo place of Mr Mitchelson. Sir R. Stout resumes his old place, perched high on the Ministerial corner, with Mr Earnshaw still in close attendance and some of the mosb rigid members of the tea party in close proximity. Mr W. Hutchison has flitted from the back bench immediately at the rear of Ministers to a remote region of the opposite corner, bub why I know not. It may have no significance, for many Ministerialists, from their very numbers sit in that quarter. Mr Buick, however, now no longer Government whip, is side by side with Mr George Hutchison, who wields the most trenchant blade of all against the Government. Mr Morrison is beside Mr Pinkerton in the seat occupied by Mr Earnshaw ere that sturdy independent refused to answer to the stockwhip of his leader."
