Reefton, July 1. Stock Exchange Report :— The market during the last week has been very dull, the only shares which changed hands being a small parcel of Globes at 7s. No business in any other stocks. The following are the quotations of Messrs Thomas F. Fenton, James Kirton, and T. Herbert Lee :—: — Big River, lls 9d to 12s 6d ; Cumberland, 3s 9d to 4s 3d ; Exchange, 8d tc la ; Globe, 7s 6d to 93 ; Hercules, Is 4d to Is 9d ; Keep-it-Dark, Is; Lyell Creek Extended, fid to lOd ; No. 2 South Keep-it-Dark, 9d to Is 3d ; Progress, 14s to 14a 6d ; Sir Charles Russell, 7d to 9d ; United Alpine, 13s to 14s 6d; Welcome (united), 7d to lOd ; Wealth of Nations ,"2s lOd to 3s 3d. Battery returns :— United Alpine, 3350z amalgam from 155 tons ; Alexander Dredge, 128oz gold for 3V days ; Globe, 2350z amalgam from 309 tons ; Progre c s, 1950z from 185 tons ; Wealth, lS9oz from 123 tons.

The Sir Francis Drake Company have struck the reef. A small piece broken off the reef shows gold. The clean-up takes place next week. The Globe Company report having driven 30ft on a reef showing good payable stone, improving as it is driven on east and looking well, fn No. 2 level there is no change. There is a lot of stone of poor quality. No. 2is the same. The general feeling expressed is that mining prospects are improving all round.
