BELLAMY'S.
Major Harris may expect much opposition •over his motion in the direction of the discontinuance of the sale of alcoholic drinks in Bellamy's, which is set down for Wednesday. However, he contends with great confidence that the Prohibitionist party in the House cannot consistently oppose him in this matter, and that many non-teetotal members have loDg been of opinion that the sale of intoxicants in Bellamy's has been a hindrance to the rapid and effective transaction of public business. Of course this is only Major Harris's personal opinion. Many members, however, look upon the motion as a slap At their sense of dignity- and as a calling in .question of their • powers of self-control. ' The ■result Gf the motion will be awaited with considerable interest.
