BANK NOTES.
The Otago and Southland Acclimatisation Societies have agreed to give 2s per head for shags from this date to the end of October. It is to be hoped that settlers and anglers living close to streams where these poachers are to be found will endeavour to try and thin their numbers. There is not the least doubt but that shags do more to keep down the stock of trcut in our streams than all other causes of depopulation put together.
