A quarter of a mile from home, Avington was within hail of Skirpenbeck and El Diablo, and when he collared them below the distance the pursuit was only being sustained by Prisoner, Sfc David, Llanthony, and Delphos. Of the last-named quaittt. l cisoner was now putting in some strong worK, and as Avington drew out and won by three lengths, Lord Cadogan's Prisoner rapidly reached the other two, and in. the last stride secured second place by a head from El Diablo, with Skirpenbeck beaten by the same. Value of the stakes, £2650.
