The Australian delegates to the Tariff Conference have arrived at Vancouver, but their progress to Ottawa will be slow, owing to the breaks in the railway lines caused by floods.

June 15.

The opening of the conference is postponed till the 26ch inst. The Hon. NT. Fitzgerald, one of the Victorian delegates, is lying ill at Vancouver, and the two other representatives of that colony have stayed behind with him, and will probably start on Sunday, arriving at Ottawa on the following Saturday.

London, June 12.

Sir R. Temple, in the House of Commons, suggested that an additional delegate should be sent to Ottawa, who was not connected with the colonies. Mr Buxton, Undersecretary to the Colonial Office, said the Government had full confidence in Lord Jersey. The inhabitants of Vancouver gave a public welcome to the Australian delegates who are on their way to the Ottawa Confereuce. June 13. Mr W. H. Mercer, a clerk in the Colonial Office, will accompany Lord Jersey as second British delegate to the Ottawa Conference. Ottawa, June 16. ThB whole of the members of the Senate and the House of Commons will attend the ceremony in connection with the opening of the conference. Mr Sandford Fleming, the well-known engineer, will also represent the Canadian Dominion at the conference.
