THE DIRECT STEAMERS.
The Matatua left Rio on tho 15th inst. for London, with her cargo of frozen meat in good condition.
Auckland, June 18. —The s.s. Ruahine, from London, arrived to-night at 10.30, but no communication has been held with her, as the health officer has not yet visited her.
Wellington, June 14.— Sailed : Rimutaka. for London, via Rio. She took the following cargo from Wellington : — 267 bales wool and skins, 12 do leather, 34 do basils, 400 cases meat, 760 do cheese, 43 do pork, 718 pkgs butter, 2956 carcises mutton, 1624 legs do, 1 case game, 26 pkgs sundries ; for Rio— l 2 carcases mutton, 6 cases produce, and CO sacks of Dotatoea.
