THE LAND AND INCOME TAX.
Wellington, February 13.
The last day for the payment of income tax without the imposition of a 10 per cent, increase is to-morrow (Wednesday). The department has issued summonses against all persons in the colony whose land tax exceeding 2s 6d has not been paid. Proceedings will be instituted against persons in Ashburton, Napier, Invercargill,_ and Taranaki for not submitting a return of income.
Those intending to take part in the examinations of the London Trinity College of Music must have their applications in Wellington by the 16th hut.
