(From Our Own Correspondent. ) Auckland, February 13. At the Onehunga Borough Couuoil meeting^ during a discussion on the resignation of the sanitary inspector, Cr Wade assumed a smiling expression, whereupon the lady mayor promptly reproved him with the remark, "This is no place to smile " ; whereupon other members of the council were guilty of a breach of Onehunga etiquette. Cr Jackson said he had yet to learn that the council room was a Star Chamber. He thought it was surely permissible to smile so long as business was not disturbed. After an interchange of compliments the subject was dropped.
