Contract No. 2.— EXTENDING the HIGH LEVEL TUNNEL. A contract will be let for a distance of 200 ft. The Company will, provide all plant as specified in Contract No. 1. The contractors will provide dynamite, fuse, caps, candles, coal, and will do their own too* sharpening, trucking, and timbering. The tunnel to be of the size specified for Contract No. 1, and to be driven along the line of reef, timbered throughout, and rails laid, &c, &c. to the satisfaction of the Manager. Not less than five (5) men to be employed by the contractors. The Company will be responsible for ventilation in both tunnels. Tenders will be received at the Offices of the Company, at Macetown, up to 12 noon on WEDNESDAY, 14th March, when the contractors will be required to start work immediately. No payment will be made until 50ft have been driven, and then 20 per cent, will be held in reserve for due performance of the contract. The current prices of material at the mine are as follows :— Dynamite, j£4 15s per case of 10 packets ; Fuse, lOd per coil ; Caps, 53 per box of 100 ; Candles, 19s 9d per box of 25 packets. W. J.
