THE ANARCHISTS.

The discovery of a number of incipient fires and a quantity of dynamite on steamers bound to America leads to the belief in shipping circles that a conspiracy is on foot to destroy the whole fleet of vessels. In one instance the dynamite was warm from the heat occasioned by one of these outbreaks of fire. Anarchists who have been expelled from Paris and other Continental cities are flocking to London. - Anarchists have written to the authorities threatening to dynamite the Eastern railway line. The reported explosion of a petard in a church at Bez'ers was a hoax. December 27. At a conference of Anarchists held in London it was resolved that desperate measures are necessary in older to convince capitalists that the working classes must be treated with more consideration. Pakis, Decsmber 27. A widespread Anarchist plot has been discovered in Orleans. December 30. . The trial of Vaillant on a charge of throwing a bomb in the Chamber of Deputies will begin shortly, and the police are taking great precautions against Anarchist outrages. The Palace of Justice is being closely guarded. January 2. Djjniqiliaiy visits to houses occupied by Anarchists in the chief cities in France have resulted in the seizure of bombs, fusee, and many dynamite cartridges. One hundred persons were taken into custody, and a number of Italian Anarchists were expelled the country. Madeid, November 27. The Anarchist who threw the bomb in the Barcelona Theatre and .the Italian who placed bombs under a seat have both been i arrested. They have sites confessed. December 31. The Anarchists arrested in Barcelona allege that the police resort to torture in order to extort confessions. Amsterdam, December 27. A Socialists' riot of a serious nature occurred here yesterday. The police dispersed the mob with their sabres, several of the former beiDg wounded. Vienna, December 27. Two Czechs have confessed to murdering the man Randolph Oroa at Prague. They state that they took the man's life because* they learnt, through a speech in the Reichsrath, that he was in the pay of the police. Washington, December 30 An infernal machine, addressed to President Cleveland, was opened by the police and removed to a place of safety.
