WEEKLY RETURNS.
The Amalgamated Waipori Deep. Lead Company washed up on the 21st, and obtained 250z gold. An Auckland telegram states that during the past four weeks 1929 tons of ore were crushed at the Waihi Gold and Silver Company's mine and treated for the excellent return of JEp656 worth of bullion.
The Cromwell Argus says that the manager of the Cromwell Company last week brought into Cromwell a cake of IlOoz of retorted gold. <% Mr Jabez Burton reports :—"1: — "1 he Ettrick dredge washed up for last week 18£oz gold. . Roxburgh dredge : No wash-up this week; breakdown in machinery." Hyde and party's dredge, Clyde, obtained 16oz 9dwt of gold last wash-up for one week's work. The returns from Mr Gard's two dredges for *he three days ending 23rd December are as follow :— Current wheel, Boz ldwt ; steam dredge, 250z 3dwt. — Dunstan Times.
The manager of the Dunedin Gold Dredging Company telegraphs :— "Dredging three and ahalf days last week for 9oz gold." An Auckland telegram, states that the assay value of gold recovered by the New Zealand Crown Mines Company from 276 tons of ore crushed and treated during December was £1250. The final cleaning-up of the Golden Cross claim, Waitekauri, yielded j£3750 worth of bullion.
