Messrs Moritzson and Hopkin, millers, grain, Sroduce, and commission agents, Manse street, lunedin, report (wholesale) as follows for week ending August 17, 1893 :— Wheat : For good lines of Tuscan and velvet we have fair demand. Prime quality saleable at 2s 9d to 3s ; medium, 2s 4d to ?<s 8c!. Any lines coming forward can easily b8 placed off trucks. Fowls' wheat : Good whole grain, 2s 4d to 2s 6d— in good demand; medium, la lid to 2s Id. Barley : Chevalier, 3s 9d to 4s ; Cape, 2s 9d to 3s, for malting qualities. Oats : Wo quote — Good milling and prime feed, 2s Id to 2s 2£d; long Tartarians for seed, bright, 2s 3d. Ryecorn : We are shipping per Fifeshire, leaving Port Chalmers August 28, with reduced rates, for the Continent of Europe.

We have inquiry for some 100 sacks locally. Hops, Is f.0.6. Nelson. Potatoes: Good Derwents, 100s to 110s ; Kidneys fit for seed, £5, and supplies are short. Pigs have inquiry, 4Jd to 4fd for suitable sizes and quality. Chaff has demand : Prime, 67s 6d to 755 ; good, 40s to 60s. Salt butter : Demand quiet, 7}d, packages extra; prime quality only wanted. Cheese in better demand: Akaroa (large), 4Jd to 4Jd ; factory, 4Jd to sd. Hams and bacon : Bacon (rolled), 6Jd ; hams, 9d ; sides, 6Jd. Honey: Extracted, 561b tins, 4Jd ; other sorts from 3Jd to 4Jd. Grass seeds: Ryegrass, 2s 6d to 3s ; machined from 3s 9d to 4s fid; cocksfoot, 3Jd to 4Jd— in good demand. Linseed wanted ; we can supply a few sacks at 15s. Onions, £10. Cocksfoot : We can supply light seed for surface sowing at 8s 6d per sack; medium seed, 12s 6d per sack — cash accompanying order. Kainit or German potash salt, £5 : nitrate of soda, £15 per ton ; Standard phosphate, £6 6s. Standard bone manure. No farmer should be without either. RabbitBkius : Winter doeis and bucks mixed greyß, Is 4d; best selected does, Is sd. We have a splendid property for sale in the Waikato district, two miles from Hamilton (361 acres).
