BOWLING ASSOCIATION,

A meeting of the New Zealand Bowling Association held in tho Commercial Hotel on Tuesday night was attended by Messrs G. B. Smith (president) in the chair, C. Fynmore, J. Wedderspoon, W. Gardner, J. R. Monson.E. Hogg, F. Peake, W. Stott, John Hislop, G. B. Dall, W. Davies, T. Moodie, T. R. Dodds; '; and George Capstick (hon. secretary). Mr Dowling, secretary of the Oamaru Club, * wrote suggesting that rule 16 be amended by adding to it a clause providing for a subatitute - being appointed in a tick where one of the members is taken HI, or, through unavoidable circumstances, is unable to play.— The letter was received. Wilson and Co. offered five trophies, of the value of £16, for competition between the various Otsgo clubs,- to be played off in Dunedin, two rinks from each club, the members of the winning club to play off in a single-handed match' for the first, second, and third prizes, the. other two trophies to be competed for by the clubs - whose rinks were put out in the first and second rounds.
