BAY OF ISLANDS COAL COMPANY.

Auckland, August 7. At the half-yearly meeting to-day of 'the Bay of Islands Coal Company the- report showed the sales of coal for the half-year to amount to £5537. The Chairman (Dr Logan Campbell) said on many successive occasions at the half-yearly meeting he had 'to warn shareholders of the early demise of the company. He surmised now shareholders would" prefer realising all the assets and receiving 'a final dividend. It was, however, left open for them to discuss what was best to do. .Four months' coal was yet available .and could be worked to profit. % Peacock, a director, said the question was whether, with the limited capital at their disposal, shareholder would be favourable to having the plant? shifted from Kawakawa to Hikurangi, where the company had a coal-bearing block. The meeting adjourned for a month to get further information for shareholders.
