Thomas Paterson and Co., fruit and produce agents, Manse street, report for week ending August 2 : — Fruit.— The market is only moderately supplied with all descriptions, and a very fair" demand is maintained. Oranges : Sydney, 5s 6d to 6s 6d; D.E. Tahiti, 8s 6d ; mandarins, 6s to 8s ; lemons, 7s ; SeviJles, 8s to 10s. Pineapples, 6s to 10s per case. Bananas (shipment very fine quality just landed), l?d to 2d. Apples: Only Tasmanian, and very few of these coming forward ; French crabs, 10s to 10s 6d ; Stunner pippins, 10s 6d ; scarlet pearmaint, 12s. We landed this week, ex Talune, 320 cases Sydney oranges, 30 do mandarins, 20 do lemons,' 20 do Sevilles, 20 do pine-

apples, 73 doLbananas, 20 sacks onions, 154 do apples. . , Produce. — Eggs, not so plentiful, and price has risen again slightly. Fresh butter, 6d to 8d ; salt butter (prime), 7d to Bd. Bacon : Roll, 6id to 7d. Hams, 84d to 9d. Pigs have good demand, 4Jd to 4|d. Cheese : Akaroa, 4Jd to Gd factory, 4|d to Bid. Honey, 3Jd to 4}d. Beeswax, Is. Potatoes ' are in fair supply, and command £5 to £5 ss. Onions: Canterbury, £7 to £810sj Melbourne, £8 10s to £9. Carrots, 27s 6*r Chaff : Prime, 55s to 655; inferior, 27s to 40s. Poultry has fair inquiry, and first-class birds are readily placed. Rabbits, fresh trapped, 7d. Rabbitskinß, 6d to Is sd. ' ' '
