Subscriber.—lf your mare is exposed to wet, cold, or a filthy stable the cause is quite evident, or she may have contracted it by standing idle in the stable on full feed. Treatment—After work clean the heel with tepid water and a soft brush and dust on dry oxide of zinc. Feed on a laxative diet with occasional diureticß. C. B.—Your cow is probably suffering from a cold, in which case previously good milkers are liable to this ailment. Other causes are indigestion, imperfectly milked, exposure to cold, overdriving, feeding on noxious weeds, or rheumatism. Treatment—Change her food and place in a sheltered paddock, and rub the udder with*marsh mallow ointment and olive oil daily.
