THE WANGANUI HOSPITAL SCANDAL.

Wanganui, July 24-. The following report of Dr Macgregor to the Hon. W. P. Reeves on the hospital scandal, to be placed on the table of the House, ia published by the Herald to-night:— " l have the honour to inform you that, according to your instructions, I proceeded to Wanganui and made careful inquiry into the allegations of improper conduot on the part of one of the hospital nurses. I found that the nurse whose conduct is in question had been guilty of impropriety with one of the male patients — a Mr Black — and had consequently neglected her duty, and also that the authorities had leaned too much to mercy 'a side in judging her conduct." The Herald says that the official report is not in accordance with Dr Macgregor's statement to them, the word '• impropriety" being substituted for "immorality."

Atameetingof the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association on Thursday the proposal that the November show should extend over three days was withdrawn, but it was resolved to have a general parade of stock on the second day.
