THE PALACE OF THE SUN.

|An Ai-iiEGonY. Higher than sea birds fly ' Clouds in the western sky, Seek for the palace of the setting sun J ■ Flushed by the fiery flare, Fanned by the languid air, Quickly they gather up the sunset glow. Laden with golden light, ' Far up the western height, They seek no more for the palace gates ; Richer their treasure grows, Milder the soft wind blows t Dim in the distance gleam the guiding lights. Yonder the last rays shine Out from the dark sea line,— Where are the vapours and their treasure trove ? Lost in the sudden gloom, Mourning at twilight's tomb, Seeking in vain for the palace of the sun. Maori Hill, July 14. —Charles Rule.
