TUAPEKA MOUTH.
July 4.— The fourteenth annual bachelors' ball was held here on Friday evening, 30th ult., and was without doubt the most successful affair of' the kind held here for many years. Credit is due to the exertions of the working 'committee + and especially to Mr Albert Smithy hori,, secretary, boma idea of the crush may be gathered from'the tact that all the dances were gone over twice. Despite this the best of good fellowship prevailed. Songs were given at intervals during the evening by Messrs Albert Smith, Arthur • Smithi ' X M'Gown, P. M'Alvoy, Charles Gilliand, Alfred Anderson, <J. Johnson, and a commercial traveller whose name I did not learn. MrW.Neoff supplied the music, and Mr C. Gilliand acted as M.C.' to the satisfaction of all.
