THE WOOL SALES.
(Peb Pbess Association.) London, July 5. At the wool sales to-day competition was good and prices were firm, remaining unchanged. Juiy 6. At the wool sales prices are unchanged. July 9. At ttie wool sales competition is stronger and prices are firmer, except for best wools. The total quantity catalogued up to date is 207,000 bales, of which 190,600 bales have been sold, The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company have received the following cablegram from their London office, dated July s:—"5 :— " Wool : Since the opening of the sales, greasy merino super, scoured merino super and medium, fine and medium greasy, medium washed, coarse greasy and scoured crossbred, greasy merino lambs (super, medium, and superior), and greasy crossbred lambs are par to £d per lb lower. Other descriptions unchanged. Home buyers are purohasing freely, but Continental demand is limited. The total quantity catalogued to date is 156,000 bales ; the total quantity withdrawn to date is 14,000 bales."
