The Australians, requiring 91 runs to save a one innings' defeat in the match with Cambridge University, began their second innings to-day, and have lost three vricketa for 160 runs. Turner secured five wickets for 45 runs, M'Leod one for 5, Trolt two for 1, and G:ffen one for 38. In the county match Notts v. Sussex, the former scored 674 in an innings. Shrewsbury was highest scorer with 164 runs, Gunn made 156, and Barnes 102. June 12. The return match between the Australians and the Marylebone Club began to-day. The colonials won the toss, and goiDg in first made 231. Blackbam, Ooningham, and W. Qiffen are not playing. The following are the scores of the Australian team: — Bannerman 11, Lyons 85, Qio. Arkwright took three wickets for 57 runs, Flowers three for 35. and Hearne two for 50. Lyons played a dashing innings, but G'.flen's play was of a reckless character. Trott collared the bowling for the time he was at the wickets. l*he tail of the team collapsed, and were soon disposed of. Flowers's bowling was very difficult to play. The Marylebone Eleven have lost two wickets in their second inniDgs for 114 runs. Grace is not out for 71. Stoddart j scored 5, Gunn BG, Hearne (not out) 2.
