THE GAZETTE.
Wellington, June 8. In to-night's Gazette the resignations of the Hons. John Kigg (Wellington) and John Edward Jenkinson (Christchurch), M.L.O.'s, are gazetted. ' Their reappointment as members of the Legislative Council appears in the same Gazette. This course has been adopted to provide against their possible disqualification on account of having been when first appointed in receipt of Government pay within the limits of time prescribed. Mr R. Driver is recognised as consular agent for the United States at Dunedin. John Thomson, C.E., has been appointed temporary resident engineer in the Public Works department. The resignation of Mr William Sinclair of his appointment as Crown solicitor at Blenheim and Crown prosecutor at Blenheim and Picton is gazetted. Mr A. D. Willis, the newly-elected M.H.R. for Wanganui, worked as a compositor on ihe Otago Daily Times in 1861-62,
