THE WOOL SALES.

The Antwero wool sales have closed, a Blighfcly better f eeliDg beiDg exhibited. Ten thousand bales of Biver Plate wool were offered, of which 3600 bales were sold at a decline of from 5 to 10 centimes ; and 1450 bales of Australian wool were offered, 350 bales being sold at prices on a par with rates ruling at the close of the London sales.
Messrs Dalgetyand Company (Limited) have received the following telegram from their head office, dated London, 7th inst. :— " Antwerp wool sales opened with small number of buyers. Competition fairly animated, and moderate selection of wool. As compared with closing rates of last London 6ales prices are 5 per cent, lower." The National Mortgage and Agency Company have received the following cablegram from their head office, dated 7th inst. :— " Wool market weak; not likely to improve this series."
