The Tuapeka County Jockey Club's programme for the 25th and 26th inst. appears in this issue. There are seven races each day, the chief events being the Lawrence Handicap, of 40sovs, one mile and a-quarter, and the Jockey Club Handicap, of 50sovs, one mile and a-half. Nominations are due on Tuesday next, the 10th inst. The Maniototo Jockey Club's Summer meeting is fixed for the Ist and 2nd February, and the approved programme is now published. It will be seen that the stake money amounts to ,£645 for the two days, of which 120sovs is given to a twomile race for county horses and 75sovs to a race for horses owned by stewards. Nominations close on the 13th inst. Mandeville J.C. programme is published this week. -The principal events are the Mandevillo Cup Handicap, of 50sovs, the President's Handicap, of 40sovs, and the Wantwood Steeplechase, of 30sovs. Mr H. G. Beecot is the secretary. The programme for Tapanui annual races, to be held on February 2 and 3 appears, elsewhere. Nominations for all handicaps close on Friday> January 20. The Tapanui Club made a ne w course last year, and it is now, the secretar informs us, in splendid order for galloping, havi been worked sufficiently to raakc the going firm.
