LATE BOWLING.
The match Roslyn versus Port Chalmers, which had been postponed from the 17th December, was played off on Saturday last on the latter's green, and after a most enjoyable game resulted in favour of the visiting team by a majority of 34- points. In the absence of the president and vicepresident, Mr E. G. Allen addressed the visitors and welcomed them to Port Chalmers, while Mr Callan, on behalf of the Roslyn Club, returned thanks for the very kindly way in which they had been entertained, and three cheers were also given for the ladies who had provided afternoon tea. The Port Chalmers Club have lately had the gas laid on to the pavilion and have also procured a gas stove for the convenience of the ladies when boiling water for making tea.
