CYCLING. PIONEER BICYCLE RACES.

CiiftiSTCHUROH, December 26. About 5000 persons vifciteel the Pioneer Bicycle races at Lancaster Park to-day. The racing was uninteresting. The weather was windy, and no records were broken in consequence. Results :—

The attendance numbered 1500. The racing was very good. Results :— Two-mile First-cuss Bicycle Handicap.— W. J. S. Hayward (Canterbury), scr, 1 ; W. L. Kerr (Sydney), scr, 2 ; E. Hassell (Timaru), 130 yds. 3. S. R. Stedman (Otago) scr, A. C. Wilmot (Canterbury) scr, E. Reynolds (Auckland) 80yds were among the starters. A grand race, won by half a machine length, three yards between second and third. C. H. Jones (Canterbury), 60yds, fell and nearly brought Reynolds down. Time, smin 15] sec.
