For the South Auckland races the weather, though not wet, was threatening all day, and interfered with the attendance. The following are the results :— Maiden Plate Handicap, seven furloflgs.— Mr J. C. Booth's vValfczer 1, Mr Slade's Caprice 2, Mr Wright's Marquis 3. This was a good race. Won easily by a length. Dividend, £3 103. Handicap Hurdles, one mile and a-half.— Mr Neal's Tupara 1, Mr M'Namin's Megoulet 2, Mr William's Daisy 3. Won easily by a dozen lengths. The same distance between Megoulet and Daisy. Mr Clement's Scahtleen fell at the second hurdle, and was thrown out o f the race. Mr Neal's Selwyn and Mr Brown's Pretender also ran. Dividend, £2. South Auckland Cup, one mile and three-quarters.— Mr Leonard's "" Ida 1, Mr Wood's Tulloch 2, Glaucus 3. Stranger and Minnie also ran. Dividend, £3 4s. First Handicap Steeplechase.— Tupara 1, Justice 2, Hopeful Kate 3. New Year and Nightcap also started. Tupara led from first to last, but was closely run by Justice, only winning by the third of a length. Dividend, Ilk. Tradesmen's Plate, one mile and a quarter. — Tulloch 1, Glaucus 2, Caprice 3. Memorandum also ran. Dividend, 15s. Waikato Produce Stakes, six furlongs.— All the horses except Mr D. M'Kiucons filly Agate were scratched, and consequently the event was a walk-over. Flying Stakes Handicap, six furlongs.— Mr Booth's Watzer 1, Orina 2, Helen M'Gregor 3. Marquis also ran. Dividend, £1 15s. Committee this afternoon the question of the Northern W&lroaßa&Dg Club's meeting (for which we have heard by telegraph that a totalisator permit has been granted by the Colonial bOcretary) came up for consideration, and after some discussion the following resolutidn was passed:— "That a notification be sent to the secretary of the Northern Wairoa Jockey Club that hones, owners, and jockeys taking, part in the races to be held on the 26th and 27th inst. at Northern Wairoa will be disqualified from taking part in all meetings held under metropolitan rules on account of such programme not having been passed and not being in accordance with the rules of lacing." The committee also considered a complaint laid by Major George against the Ellerslie trainer, G. Wright, for insolence on being remonstrated with for leading a horse on the training track to the danger of other horses which were galloping.
