THE LONDON MARKETS.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) hay« received the following '
cablegram from their London office, dated 27th August :— " Tallow : Tallow ia dull of sale. Fine mutton tallow is worth 26s per cwt ; good beef tallow is worth 23s 6d per cwt.* Frozen meat : Market firmer. Canterbury mutton is worth 4d per lb : Wellington mutton is*, worth 3§d per lb. Prime New Zealand lambs are worth per carcase 6d per lb. New Zealand beef : Forequarters are worth 2}d per lb ; hindquarters aro worth 4id per lb. Market is understocked for lamb and beef. The National Mortgage and Agency Company are in receipt of the following caWegraphic advice from their London omco, dated 27th inst. :- "Wheat: The present value of New Zealand wheat in London is 30s to 31s fid per quarter of 4961b. Oats : The market is drooping. Frozen mutton: The present price of New Zealand mutton is 3id to 3Jd per lb.
