OAMARU COURSING CLUB.

(From Our Own Correspondent.)

The above club finished their programme for this season on Thursday last on Mr I. M'Lean's Waitaki estate. The morning broke threatening after the previous day's rain, but towards noon the day was all that could be desirod. There was only a moderate attendance of sports present, and puss was very wild, no less than 10 getting away before the slipper let the first pair of dogs go. Mr W. Macaulay acted as judge, and gave every satisfaction, except in the final course, when many thought that Annie Laurie won, but the judge ruled for Razzle Dazzle. Messrs W. Gardiner and A. Dalgleish acted as slippers, and both got through a good day's work with credit to themselves. The winner of the stake was Mrs Myers' Razzle Dazzle, who wa,s favourite, this being Razzle's third win in succession on the open this season, besides being the runner-up in the 64-dog Bracelet Stakes in Dunedin in July. Archie Dalgleish is to be complimented on the way he brought his dog to the slips, as he was in the pink of condition, considering he went lame after his last win, hence his non-appearance at Sockbum or Dunedin this month. Annie Laurie, the runner-up, ran a good slut, as she won her three courses cleverly, and then after a lopg crueller she made a big fight with Razzle. Miss Millington, who took third hono.urs, ran very well, but hung in the slips in her course with Razzle Dazzle, and it took her some time to make up the lost ground, but she was very busy when she got in, and was only two points behind when she pulled puss down. Cora Lynn ran with great determination in all her courses, and had it not have been such a grueller in the third round she would have beaten Annie Laurie. At the conclusion of the day's fun cheers were given for Mr M'Lean, the judge, slippers, ladies, winners, losers, • and visitors. The following are the results :—: — Ladies' Bracelet.— Winner L2O, and a bracelet value L 5, presented by the club ; runner-up, LlO and a trophy value L 2, presented by Mr M'Ghie, and also a trophy value 10s 6'd, presented by Mr G. Winter Rose led Deceit by a dozen lengths, turned, and wrenched, took possession again, and scored five before she drove puss through a fenco and brought it back to her opponont, who refused to go through, the latter then got a few points ere the red joined again, and she drove puss to cover. Miss Millington and Mignon were slipped near a fence, and on puss going through tho former followed her, while Mignon raced down the wire fence waiting for her opponent, who was working in fine style, to bring puss back, which she did, and never gave the white collar a point in a long spin. Kaloolah and Robert the Devil lost sight after leaving the slips, but the former getting on to another hare, she mado a few points before the blue joined in for two, and then puss was lost in. some scrub, the white flag going up for Kaloolah after a very unsatisfactory course. After a nocourse, Razzle led Isa and made tho first four points, then placing the slut she got two, the dog raced by and made two more, then Isa another and Razzle got possession and drove puss through a fence where the>, course ended. Cora Lynn ran a bye in the absence of Little Wonder. A cross slip saw Irony get the advantage, and sticking close to his game, soon had six to his credit ere Biddy made a single ; puss favouring the dog he again made things merry, andonly allowed the red two more before puss escaped. Annie Laurie led by fully a dozen lengths, turned twice, and drove her game through an adjoining fence, without Juanita scoring. Chorister ran a bye. Second Round.— A long race up saw Miss Millington get best away by threo lengths, which she increased, wrenched, and pulled puss down — the firat kill of the day. Itnzzlo Dazzle led Kaloolah by # 10 lengths, wrenched, and turned, took possession again for a single, and placed the black, but before she could use puss the brindle raced by, turned, and killed, the black never scoring. A nice slip saw Irony lead Cora by two lengths and turn, Cora then got a single, the dog another, and placing the red she scored two ; Irony got a single, and Cora raced by him twice aud drove puss to cover and won easily. Chorister led Annio Laurie and turned twice, the brindle then got an opening fora single, the black another, Annie two more, and finished by wrenching and killing. Third Round.— Miss Millington hung in the slips, and Razzle had a long lead before the slut got in. Brisk exchanges followed, until puss, breaking away, the dog scored three, and placing the lass she killed. From a good slip Cora reached puss first, turned twice, and placed Annie for a .single. Cora had two more, and driving the brindlo got another, and then Cora drove puss through a fenco, and in a long course her opponent had much the best of the spin as puss escaped. - Final.— A good race up saw Annie Laurie draw out for the turn, and coming round she scored another, and placing Razzle he took two wrenches, Annie raced by, turned, and let the brindle in for two. Annie again meed past, turned, and then Razzle ran by but did not use puss again before she escaped, the red flag appearing for Razzle Dazzle by one point. '
