SANDYMOUNT.
August 21. — The Peninsula Rifle Club gave a concert and dance on Friday, 12th inst., the proceeds to go towards reducing the debt on tho hall. The chairman, Mr Garr, made a statement showing that during the past year L 39 had been paid on account of the hall, L2§ of which had been raised by concerts given for that purpose. Seventy-five pounds of the debt was now paid off, and L 75 ha 1 yet to be paid. The entertainment was highly successful. Misses Read and Dick contributed solos ou the piano, Miss Read being recalled ; Misses Branton, Read, Jessie Riddell, Messrs Robinson, Neill, and Bellfield gave songs, Misses Brunton and Read being recalled ; Misses C. Dick and Kcrr sang a duet. Misses Read aud Dick and Mr Brunton played the accompaniments ou the piano ; Miss Dick, Messrs J. Dick, Landreth, Wertfold, and Rawcliffe supplied the music for the dance, Messrs Robinson and Roger acting a» M.C.'s.
SnoomG Competition.— The Peninsula Rifle Club fired the second stage of a six days' competition a few daya ago at Sandymount, there being 19 competitors. The scores were as follow :—: —
