THE LIBERAL PLATFORM.
A general meeting of the Canterbury Liberal "Association on Friday night adopted the following platform : — No further sale of Crown lands ; compul.-ory repurchase of freehold land required for settlement; graduated land tax, w ith exemption of improvements, ami graduated income tax ; that primary education be free, secular, And compulsory, and that all children who pass the Sixth Standard be entitled to full secondary education ; that th-*. qualification of electors for voting for mcmbeis of Parli.ini(-nt be residential only, except in tbe caso of teamen and commercial travellers ; extension of local government aud adaptation of ratepayers' and leaseholders' rolls on tho ouc-man-one-votc principle ; that all adult residents shall have votes on the licensing question.
