At the Victoria Amateur Turf Club Winter meeting to-day there was a good attendance, and the weather was fine. Results : — GRAND NATIONAL HURDLES, About two miles and a half. Tim Swiveller, 9.6 ... (Mr Brewer) 1 Havilah.lo.il (Scobie) 2 Buttons, 9.12 (Ferfiusson) 3 Twelve started. Betting at the post : sto 2 agst Tim Swiveller, 6 to 1 Buttons, 8 to 1 Havilah. Won easily. Time, 4min 30sec. GRAND NATIONAL STEEPLECHASE, About four miles. Redleap, 13.12 ... (MrW. S. Cox) 1 Boulevard, 10.12 (Mr Watson) 2 Freeman, 12.3 (Mr Brewer) 3 Nine started. Betting : 6 to 4 agst Redleap, 3to 1 Freeman, 7 to 1 Beggarboy. One of the grandest races ever seen. The horses jumped faultlessly for three miles. Redleap won by four lengths. Time, Bmin 45|sec. The books have had a hard knock over Redleap's^victory, and on the horse returning to the scales there was indescribable enthusiasm.
